People say, ‘That person lives extremely well,’ but such a remark actually means, ‘A person without vengeful qi thrives in life.’ Do not instill bitterness in others, for you shall reap their bitterness as vengeful qi. Do not hate others, for the spirits guarding them will know of it and repay your hate with vengeful qi.

상말에 ‘무척 잘산다.’ 이르나니 ‘척(隻)이 없어야 잘산다.’는 말이니라.
남에게 원억(寃抑)을 짓지 말라. 척이 되어 갚느니라.
또 남을 미워하지 말라. 그의 신명(神明)이 먼저 알고 척이 되어 갚느니라.
