People wish riches and renown only for their descendants, but I urge you to refrain from doing so. Our work is the work of bringing prosperity to all the world’s people, so abandon selfish desires and think only of the multitudes.

사람들은 제 자손만 잘되어 부귀하기를 바라나 너희는 부디 그러지 말라.
우리 일은 천하창생이 함께 잘되자는 일이니 사욕을 버리고 오직 창생을 생각하라.
