The Sixty-Year Devotion and Virtue of Ancestral Spirits
하늘이 사람을 낼 때에 무한한 공부를 들이나니 그러므로 모든 선령신(先靈神)들이 쓸 자손 하나씩 타내려고 60년 동안 공을 들여도 못 타내는 자도 많으니라.
이렇듯 어렵게 받아 난 몸으로 꿈결같이 쉬운 일생을 어찌 헛되이 보낼 수 있으랴.
너희는 선령신의 음덕을 중히 여기라.
선령신이 정성 들여 쓸 자손 하나 잘 타내면 좋아서 춤을 추느니라.
It takes infinite dedication for heaven to beget a human being,
and thus ancestral spirits devote more than sixty years to the receiving of a single worthy descendant from heaven, yet many spirits still do not succeed in receiving any such descendants.
How can you—the culmination of such arduous labors—spend your fleeting dream of a life in vain?
You must cherish the devotion and virtue of your ancestral spirits.
When ancestral spirits successfully receive a single worthy descendant through their devotion, they dance with joy.
