관운장(關雲長)은 병마대권(兵馬大權)을 맡아 성제군(聖帝君)의 열(列)에 서게 되었나니

2 It was neither his talent nor his strategic prowess that elevated him to that position, it was solely his fidelity.”

운장이 오늘과 같이 된 것은 재주와 지략 때문이 아니요 오직 의리 때문이니라.

Righteousness, the Most Valued Treasure in Heaven and Earth

천지에서 으뜸가는 보배, 의로움

3 “In all of heaven and earth, nothing is more noble or precious than righteousness.

천지간에 의로움보다 더 크고 중한 것은 없느니라.

4 There is nothing beyond heaven’s power, yet heaven cannot act against the righteous.

하늘이 하지 못할 바가 없지마는 오직 의로운 사람에게만은 못 하는 바가 있느니라.

5 Righteousness in speech and action moves even heaven and earth.

사람이 의로운 말을 하고 의로운 행동을 하면 천지도 감동하느니라. 

6 So it is that I, who possess all the treasures of heaven and earth, prize righteousness above all else.

그러므로 나는 천지의 모든 보배를 가지지 않은 것이 없으나 의로움을 가장 으뜸가는 보배로 삼느니라. 

7 I love integrity and resolve that are unyielding as autumn frost, and loyalty and righteousness that blaze like the sun.

나는 추상 같은 절개와 태양같이 뜨거운 충의(忠義)를 사랑하노라.
