8.15 해방은 수치스런 말

'해방解放'은 타동사다. 주어와 목적어를 붙인다면 "'일본'이 '한국'을 해방했다"가 된다. 8.15를 해방이라고 하는 것은 주체성 없는 수치스런 용어다.
'독립獨立'은 예속된 상태에서 풀려나는 것을 말한다. 우리는 일본에 예속된 적이 없다. 강도에게 일시 강점당한 것이다. 미국은 영국에 예속되었다가 독립했다. 독립전쟁을 통해 독립되었고 독립기념관을 지어 기념한다. 8.15를 독립한 날이라고 하는 것은 5천년 역사를 다 버리고 일본에게서 독립한 신생국가가 되는 것이다. '독립기념관'이라고 한 것은 천하에 수치스런 말이다.
'광복光復'은 정인보 선생이 쓴 말이다. 강점당한 주권을 반드시 항거에 의해 되찾는 것을 지칭하는 주체적인 용어가 '광복'이다. 8.15를 해방, 독립 등으로 말하는 잘못을 범하고 있지만 다행히도 '광복절'이라고 지칭한 것은 참으로 다행이다.
