The mind is the pathway of the spirits.

If you envision a sage, the spirit of a sage will arrive and inspire you; if you envision a hero, the spirit of a hero will arrive and inspire you; if you envision a stalwart, the spirit of a stalwart will arrive and inspire you; if you envision a thief, the spirit of a thief will arrive and inspire you. It is therefore your own sincerity and aspirations that visit upon your endeavors either fine fortune or misfortune, blessings or curses. 

마음이란 귀신이 왕래하는 길이니 마음속에 성현을 생각하면 성현의 신이 와서 응하고

마음속에 영웅을 생각하고 있으면 영웅의 신이 와서 응하며 마음속에 장사를 생각하고 있으면 장사의 신이 와서 응하고

마음속에 도적을 생각하고 있으면 도적의 신이 찾아와 응하느니라. 그러므로 천하의 모든 일의 길흉화복(吉凶禍福)이 스스로의 정성과 구하는 바에 따라서 얻어지는 것이니라.
